Leicester 21/3/10

Due to unforeseen Health and Safety Issues, this gig isn't happening. It may be rescheduled later in the year. However, we have been booked to play at The Big Session festival in Leicester on 19th June if that's any consolation.

Another new track

A song written and recorded by Chumbawamba in conjunction with the No Masters Collective, ‘Dance, Idiot, Dance’ - a response to the BNP's attempts to infiltrate English folk music and ‘reclaim it’ in the name of racist bigotry. A lovely opportunity to ridicule the neo-fascists while rhyming ‘cold lasagne’ with ‘Britannia’. Available to listen to exclusively on the Folk Against Fascism website.

Hear a track from the new album!

If you want a sneak preview of one of the songs on the album, have a listen to the Durbevilles Folk and Roots show from 24/01/10 - about twenty minutes in. Be quick, the show's only on iPlayer for another few days

Larmer Tree Festival

Chumbawamba confirmed for Larmer Tree Festival 17th July.

Viral marketing

Facebook tends to be somewhere we, as a band, have tended to avoid. However, with a view to spreading the word about our forthcoming album and tour, we've set up a Facebook page. I think how it works is you become a fan of the page, then all of your Facebook friends see that you've become a fan of it and are thus made aware of our continued existence and artistic output. And then their friends see it, and on it goes. Forever. Genius.
